Update
The Ventura County Watershed Protection District has been awarded $4,419,000 of Proposition 84 grant funding for Phase 2 of the J Street Drain Project (Hueneme Road to Pleasant Valley Road). The funding would allow the District to construct either a reinforced concrete box conduit or an open concrete channel, as desired by the community. The reinforced box conduit would enable the City of Oxnard to create an overlying linear park, reuniting a neighborhood currently divided by the fenced J Street Drain and eliminating the potential for trash to blow in or be dumped into an open channel. However, this alternative is contingent on a cost share agreement being reached with the City of Oxnard.
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors certified the FEIR on March 27, 2012
