The city of Camarillo will host a town hall for residents impacted by the Mountain Fire on Tuesday, Jan. 7, covering the potential for post-fire debris flow.
The meeting will be hosted by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services and the city of Camarillo, and will take place at 6 p.m. at the Rancho Campana High School Performing Arts Center.
Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell, Camarillo Mayor Kevin Kildee, and representatives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Ventura County Fire Department, Ventura County’s Public Works Agency and the City of Camarillo will present on various topics.
In addition to potential post-fire debris flow concerns, the meeting will also cover emergency response plans and how to access additional winter preparedness resources.
The town hall is open to all members of the public, but will not be livestreamed, and will instead appear on vcemergency.com no later than Thursday, Jan. 8.

The Mountain Fire started on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 8:51 a.m. in the Somis area near Balcom Canyon Road and Bradley Road. Over the course of several days, the fire burned 19,904 acres and destroyed 182 residential structures.
