Notice of Request for Qualifications for Construction Material Testing & Inspection Services – Systemic & Oxnard Area
The County of Ventura Roads & Transportation Department (AGENCY) is seeking a qualified Consulting firm to provide Construction Material Testing & Inspection Services. The successful candidate shall provide an experienced and qualified construction materials inspector and lab that specializes in roadway capital improvements and is familiar in working with public agencies to provide the services included in this Request for Qualifications.
The ideal candidate shall have at a minimum, five years of relative expertise and experience in construction material testing and inspection, with two years of recently completed construction projects performed for local agencies. The successful candidate shall demonstrate that they have the resources and capability to provide replacement or additional material inspectors if required.
The Consultant’s material inspector shall work under an Agency Resident Engineer & Inspector. Desirable qualifications include having some engineering knowledge and training for roadway construction, proficiency in one or more of the construction trades, a certification to perform material testing from Caltrans or ASTM. Knowledge of industry safety practices and OSHA safety regulations. The Consultant’s lab shall be able to perform various material Testing needs as requested by the Agency. The lab shall have all the necessary equipment and certification to perform the material testing to ensure that the Contractor is complaint the Specifications for the project.
The RFQ includes a description of services to be provided by the respondents; the minimum content of the responses; and the factors to be used to evaluate the responses. The County reserves the right to change the solicitation schedule or issue amendments to the solicitation at any time. The County reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to waive immaterial irregularities contained in the solicitation. The County reserves the right to refrain from contracting with any respondent.
