Celebrating No Lost Workdays
Ventura County Public Works Agency (VCPWA) is continually working to achieve the safest workplace for our employees. The greatest potential for injury for VCPWA staff is within our operations and maintenance divisions, which work on our County roadways and water channels and also supply water and sanitation to the public.
Beginning January 1, 2017, we started tracking ‘No Loss Workdays’ at our operations and maintenance facilities. Since then, Water & Sanitation’s Wastewater division, headed by Joseph Pope, Department Director; Scott Meckstroth, Deputy Director; and August Godinez, Superintendent, achieved four (4) years without a lost workday. They deserve a BIG Woosh! Water & Sanitation didn’t stop there; the Water Division achieved one (1) year without a lost workday. What a fantastic job! Keep up the good work.
In honor of their achievement, Water & Sanitation was presented with awards/plaques for display at their worksites on Thursday April 29, 2021. VCPWA is working closely with all divisions to ensure safety and leadership at all levels for continuous improvement.
It is a credit to all involved that this milestone was achieved, and we look forward to celebrating more of these milestones in the near future
