VCPWA Directors Providing Aide
With the County of Ventura expanding vaccinations throughout the area for residents, VCPWA’s very own directors have stepped up from their regular duties to assist with disaster service needs.
As Disaster Service workers, Joan Araujo, Director of Central Services and David Fleisch, Director of Roads and Transportation have helped in not only operating the vaccine site at the Ventura County Fairgrounds but worked to set-up the site to begin administering the vaccination to local residents.
“Opening and operating the vaccine clinic at the Fairgrounds has been hugely rewarding.” said Araujo. “Establishing the set up and flow has been the easiest part as I’ve partnered with my colleagues, the other Public Works Directors – all engineers! At the end of each day we have administered our full allotment of vaccine and are helping to save lives which is truly gratifying worthwhile work.”
VCPWA’s Directors will continue running the vaccine site by doing a rotation so that 2 of VCPWA’s directors will be at the site everyday.
“Positioned alongside staff from an array of Agencies in the County and seeing each individual’s flexibility, commitment and willingness to withstand long hours to make vaccine administration possible is one of the best aspects of the job,” said Araujo.
