County residents impacted by the Thomas Fire are encouraged to attend this free event!

The City of Ventura & County of Ventura invite you to learn valuable information to keep your home & property safe from potential mud and debris flows resulting from rain on Thomas Fire burn areas. City and County public works officials will discuss burn area analysis and erosion control measures that will assist you in protecting your family and property.

Flood Preparedness Awareness Week

Be sure to stop in at the Government Center during the week of October 17, 2017.
 
A proclamation will be presented at the Board of Supervisors meeting on October 17th.
 
We will have information on display all through the week of October 22th to show you how you can prepare for potential flooding at your home or property.
 
We are at 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura CA.

FREE Watershed Friendly Garden seminars and workshops in Meiners Oaks and Oak Park

From time to time classes are offered for Watershed Friendly Gardening.  In these classes you can learn for FREE how to use watershed friendly approach in your garden. These are typically offered in a multi-part workshop series.  Classes were offered in Meiners Oaks and Oak Park. Discover how to design, mulch, grade and plant for the efficient use of rainwater and elimination of the long-term need for irrigation. You will be an expert water-conserving gardener in no time!  We will post any upcoming class offerings.
